Purpose?
We all want to reconnect to the fond memories of our younger days. For some of us, this means playing classic games like Commander Keen or Duke Nukem. Unfortunately, it is difficult for most of us to access these games without more technical know-how than is socially acceptable. This site answers that need. The hard work is done for us. Just download and run the installer file and you are ready to play. Enjoy!
Free AND Legal?
This site posts only legally free DOS games. This includes demos, shareware, and those games whose intellectual property rights have expired. These games are public domain and free to distribute and redistribute to our hearts content. Thus allowing this site to be:
Safe (not sketchy at all, really?)
I personally script every installer from scratch using nullsoft. I have written every page of the site to be lightweight and straightforward and I use a paid hosting service so that I can guarantee that there are no adware/spyware/viruses or any other nasty sketchy stuff involved. If you have any questions or if you encounter anything amiss in this site or any site that I link to, PLEASE contact me so that I can keep this claim accurate.
I don’t see the game I want…
I’ve started with a few of my favorites but there are hundreds more that I could legally host here. First check my list of protected games. If it’s not there, send an e-mail to requests@dosomegames.com and I’ll look for it and either post it or tell you I can’t.
What if I already own a non-shareware game?
Awesome. I can set it up for you for a small fee. See I wand the full version. Demos are lame for instructions.
What about Mac/Linux/Older Windows OS?
Right now only Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7 are supported.
Mac: I’m working with an associate to get support for Mac OS, though it might be some time. If you are impatient, send me a message telling me there is a demand and I’ll speed up the process.
Linux: Sorry, Linux people. I figure if you’re using linux, you’re probably a big enough nerd to figure out how to run DOS games on your own.
Older Windows: Honestly, it might work now but I can’t seem to find anybody still using one so I can test it. If are running any Windows before XP, try it out and send me an e-mail. I’d love to hear how it goes.

I understand.
If there is a game that you desperately want made DOSome, but I can’t put up because they are not shareware, I can set it up for you, but the service costs 3$ per game. Here’s how it works:
- You can acquire the raw files for the game through some other source (I recommend a legal source) and send those files.
- For now just zip the files and e-mail them. We’re working on a form to submit the request and files.
- We optimize the game for Windows and send you an e-mail confirming that everything is working properly.
- You use the Donate link on the Donate Page to send 3$ of cold hard cash.
- We send you a link to the brand new installer, which you download and run just like any other DOSome game.
This way you can have the joy of running the full version of any DOS game while we can have the joy of not being sued.
Here are some links to legal sources for some of my partial and demo games:
